On May 20th, the Assigner will be migrating environments from using Microsoft Entra Id groups to Learn365 groups. For more information click here.
Following the migration, it is best practice (although not required) to remove the now obsolete Entra Id items that the Assigner will no longer be using: Entra Id Groups and Assigner App Registration
NOTE
These actions will most likely require your IT Administrator or Entra Id Administrators to complete.
Removing Obsolete Assigner Entra Id Groups
Since these groups are no longer required for the Assigner to operate, we recommend removing them so that they do not clog up your Entra Id environment.
- Navigate to your Azure Portal.
- Go to Groups.
- Select All Groups.
- Search for your Assigner Prefix. (For your convenience, this will be provided to you in the email following the migration).
- Select all of the groups.
- Click Delete
Removing An Obsolete Assigner App Registration
Since the Assigner no longer requires a connection to Entra Id to create and manage Entra Id groups, it is beneficial to delete this App Registration.
NOTE
We do not recommend deleting the App Registration if you are using it elsewhere (like using the same App Registration for the Synchronizer).
- Navigate to your Azure Portal.
- Go to App Registrations.
- Select All applications.
- Search for your Assigner App Registration (for your convenience we will be providing you with the id in the post migration email).
- Click on the App Registration
- Select Delete.
