October 2022 release highlights

We're delighted to announce the LMS365 October release. This release marks the launch of the LMS365 integration with Microsoft Viva Learning as well as improvements to instructor-led training and a series of UI improvements.

Viva Learning integration

Integrate LMS365 with Microsoft Viva Learning!

Microsoft's employee learning API in Microsoft Graph is now available in public preview, which means that, from this release, you can start integrating LMS365 with Microsoft Viva Learning and feature LMS365 courses and training plans in Viva Learning.

The integration will ensure all learning in your organization can be found from one single interface. It provides learners with a full overview of available training and ensures that the structured courses and training plans from your LMS365 solution are available in the flow of work, now also in Viva Learning.

Instructor-led training

You can now give sessions a name

We've introduced an additional field that makes it possible to provide all sessions with a unique name.

This will enable learners to get a better idea of the content of specific sessions and understand what sessions are relevant to be enrolled in.

For example, a session might be targeted toward a specific language audience or be on a specific topic within the course in question. Or a course can have a selection of sessions on different subjects relevant to the course. A quick look at the session title can provide this information to learners.

 

 

Additionally, the session name will make it easier for admins to identify specific sessions listed in the course Sessions section.

The name is specified when creating or editing a session.

 

 

The name of the session is displayed on the course home page, in notifications, as well as in the appointment in Microsoft Outlook, making the topic of the scheduled session clear to learners.

 

UI improvements

#1 New look and feel of the overlay with course details

When learners select a course or training plan from a course catalog, detailed information about the course or training plan will be displayed in an overlay.

With this release, this overlay will have a new, contemporary design that allows more space for the course or training plan details.

 

 

#2 Search box in the toolbar of the Users page and the Line Manager Dashboard

To make it easy to quickly find the search bar of the Users page and the Line Manager Dashboard, we have now included the search bar in the toolbar of these two pages.

The search function will search for all data displayed on the two pages, respectively. For example, when searching for "Miriam Graham" from the Users page, the learner with the name "Miriam Graham" will be listed, along with the learners for whom Miriam Graham is the manager.

 

 

Course and training plan duration

Standardized format for the duration of courses and training plans

To enable you to use the duration data of courses and training plans for reporting purposes, we have created a standardized format for the input of the duration. This will make it easier to report on the time spent on training, for example.

When configuring a course or training plan, the admin will now see two fields for entering the duration. One field where the duration will be entered in the standard format, DD:HH:MM, and the current field, where the admin can enter any relevant value.

Both fields will be optional.

Microsoft 365 connection settings

Deprecation of the Classic authentication method

As Microsoft will deprecate the Basic authentication in Exchange Online on October 1, 2022, customers will not be able to authenticate via the Classic authentication method after this date and the option will be removed from the LMS365 product.

The deprecation will impact LMS365 notifications for course catalogs that have used the Classic authentication method when configuring the Microsoft 365 Connection Settings.

If Microsoft 365 Connection Settings are configured via the Classic authentication method in one or more of your course catalogs, please make sure you configure the Microsoft 365 Connection Settings via the Modern authentication method prior to October 1, 2022.
