Introduction
Where learners' external training is imported into Learn365, the learner progress information displayed depends on how the training was imported:
- Learner's progress for external training that was imported into an existing Learn365 course
- Learners' progress for external training that was imported as a new non-Learn365 course
This article describes how imported external training is displayed on the Learner's Progress panel via Users > select a learner > View Learner's Progress.
Learners' progress for external training that was imported into an existing Learn365 course
When external training is imported into an Learn365 existing course, the status of these courses will be set to Completed, regardless of the learner's course progress (Completed, In progress, Not started, or not enrolled in the course).
TIP
The completion date of the course into which the external training was imported:
- Will be the course completion date set during the import if the course hasn't been completed before.
- Will be the course completion date set during the import if the completion date of the imported external training is after the completion date set during import. For example, the completion date of the course is May 9, 2022. A course catalog admin imports external training records and sets the completion date as May 13, 2022 during the import. The completion date displayed on the Learner's Progress panel will be May 13, 2022.
- Will remain unchanged if the completion date of the imported external training is before the completion date set. For example, the completion date of the course is May 9, 2022. A course catalog admin imports external training records and sets the completion date as May 6, 2022 during the import. The completion date displayed on the Learner's Progress panel will remain May 9, 2022.
A learner's progress with the learning items of a course will remain unchanged if external training record is imported into that course. For example, if a learner has completed the first learning item of a course, has started but not finished the second one, and hasn't started the third, the progress of the learning items won't change. In cases like this, only the progress status of the course will be set to Completed.
It's possible to manually edit a learner's progress in a course and its learning items via Users > select a learner > View Learner's Progress. Here, you can also remove progress the learner has made in the course and its learning items.
The learner's transcript will show all the enrollment registrations the learner has ever had for this course, including external training records that have been imported. There is no difference in display of the enrollment registrations performed by a learner or an admin, or by importing external training.
Learners' progress for external training that was imported as a new non-Learn365 course
When external training is imported into Learn365 as a new course, this course won't be displayed in the list of courses on the Training Management page and the course will contain no learning items inside.
It's not possible to edit the progress of this course, but you can remove the course and any progress recorded against it. Find more details about how to delete learner's progress for imported external training here.
The status of these courses will be set to Completed, regardless of the completion dates recorded by the catalog admin.
