LTI and the use of external apps in Learn365
LTI is a standard for education technology, developed by 1EdTech Consortium, which enables learning tools and courseware from different vendors to be integrated into a learning platform.
NOTE
Learn365 complies with LTI 1.0 and 1.1.
However, 1EdTech Consortium stopped support of these versions. Nevertheless, the content package should still function in Learn365 if the LTI package provider hasn't changed the package itself.
Learn365 enables you to integrate LTI-compliant learning tools and content into courses built in Learn365. In this way, learners can interact seamlessly with various LTI-compliant materials, such as audio and video, and interactive learning exercises provided by third parties and hosted outside of Learn365. Learners only need to log in to Learn365 - there is no need to log in to the connecting site.
Examples of external apps that can be employed for your training
To see examples of LTI applications that you can employ in your courses, please visit the TrustEd Apps Directory where you can find a list of products that have passed the 1EdTech Consortium interoperability official certification.
It is also possible to add Pluralsight content to a learning module as an external app.
NOTE
- In Learn365, each learner's attempt with an external app is stated as Completed regardless of whether it's actually completed. However, the learner may review the content of the LTI app by selecting the View external app button on the result page of the completed LTI in the Learn365 player. This won't create a new attempt.
- The number of attempts for an LTI app can't be identified.
