Welcome to the May 2026 update!
This month’s release brings powerful enhancements across Learn365 and Perform & Engage 365 - with a strong focus on creating intuitive learning experiences, AI-powered support, improved reporting confidence, and streamlined workflows for learners, managers, and admins alike.
From an intelligent Learn365 Agent to major improvements in AI-supported learning and the new Conversations experience in Perform & Engage 365, this release introduces meaningful enhancements designed to help organizations work smarter, learn faster, and create even stronger Human Success experiences.
Let’s dive in!
Learn365
A more intelligent and context-aware Learn365 agent
The Learn365 Agent is becoming even more intelligent - delivering a more natural, personalized, and helpful experience throughout the learning journey. With the new context-aware capabilities, the agent can now better understand:
- who the user is
- their role as learner or manager
- recent activity within Learn365
- and the context of the ongoing conversation
This means learners and managers can receive more relevant guidance, smarter recommendations, and more contextual support without needing perfectly phrased questions.
For example, questions like: “What should I do next?” or “Do I still have anything overdue?” can now result in much more meaningful and personalized responses.
The result: a learning experience that feels more connected, intuitive, and supportive in everyday moments.
Most importantly, this is a native enhancement to the Learn365 Agent experience - no additional setup or configuration is required.

AI tutor: more interactive, transparent, and helpful learning support
The AI Tutor experience continues to evolve with new capabilities designed to support deeper understanding and more engaging learning experiences.
Guided learning mode
Learners can now choose a more interactive AI Tutor experience that encourages active thinking and deeper understanding through guiding questions and contextual hints. This creates a more engaging learning journey - especially for more complex topics where reflection and reasoning matter most.
Clearer AI transparency
To help build trust and clarity, the AI Tutor now clearly indicates when answers are based on general knowledge rather than course-specific content. This gives learners better visibility into how responses are generated and helps them interpret information with greater confidence.
AI tutor support for uploaded videos
Video-based learning is now even more interactive. When videos are uploaded to courses, learners can engage with the AI Tutor to ask questions, clarify concepts, and receive contextual support based on the video content itself. Together, these enhancements help transform learning into a more active, guided, and supportive experience.

Continued improvements to the new Learn365 experience
As more organizations continue adopting the new Learn365 experience, this month’s updates further refine everyday learning and navigation across the platform - creating an even smoother, clearer, and more intuitive experience for learners and admins alike.
Smarter course discovery
Learners can now preview course details directly from the catalog before opening a course, making it easier to explore and navigate training options. Admins can also remove learning paths directly from the My Training page, helping create a more personalized and flexible learning experience.
Cleaner and more structured learning experience
Course homepages in the New UI have been further refined with improved layouts, clearer visibility of important learning information, and a more intuitive overall structure. Instructor-Led Training courses without additional content now also automatically hide empty sections, creating a cleaner and more focused learner experience.
More consistent and polished new UI experience
Additional improvements across the platform help create a more consistent New UI experience throughout Learn365, while refined banner image handling ensures course visuals display more naturally and consistently. Together, these enhancements continue evolving the New Learn365 experience - making everyday learning feel even more seamless, modern, and enjoyable.
Assessment grading: beyond completion tracking
Learning success is about more than simply marking training as completed. With the new assessment grading capabilities, organizations can now add qualitative evaluation directly into the assessment workflow. Admins can configure grading scales, while supervisors and managers can evaluate submissions during approval processes across both the old and new UI experiences. This helps organizations better recognize quality, support structured evaluations, and create more meaningful learning outcomes.
More accurate and insightful compliance reporting
Compliance reporting now includes an additional indicator showing whether training was mandatory or optional for each learner at the time of completion. This gives organizations more accurate reporting for audits and compliance tracking, while also helping managers better understand where employees are going beyond required training to further develop their skills.
Affected reports include:
- Training Progress Report
- Training Report
- Learner Report
A new API endpoint is also available to support the updated reporting structure.
Perform & Engage 365
Conversations V2: a faster, smarter conversation experience
The new Conversations experience in Perform & Engage 365 represents a major step forward in how performance and development conversations are created, managed, and experienced. Built on the new Conversations V2 foundation, the experience has been redesigned to provide a faster, more streamlined, and more scalable workflow for organizations.
Ready-to-use templates
Organizations can now launch conversations using prebuilt templates such as:
- 30/60/90 reviews
- Professional development plans
- Career progress conversations
- End-of-year reviews
Templates include clear stage previews and can easily be customized to fit organizational needs.
Campaign-based conversations
Conversations are now managed through campaigns, making it easier to:
- define participants
- manage recurring or ad hoc cadences
- track progress across stages
- automate notifications and follow-ups
A more intuitive experience across web and teams
The new experience is available across both web and Microsoft Teams, offering a cleaner interface, clearer timelines, and better visibility into conversation progress for employees, managers, and admins alike. Together, these enhancements create a more connected, transparent, and scalable conversation experience across the organization. To support a smooth rollout, old and new conversations will continue running in parallel for an extended period, allowing organizations to transition at their own pace.
