Introduction
Required role: IT admins. Super admins with the Microsoft 365 global admin role can also set up the sync.
The most efficient method of user management, especially for larger organizations, is by syncing Perform & Engage 365 with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory). This way, you won't have to update new users and leavers information manually.
You can set up the sync directly from Perform & Engage 365 according to your preferred schedule.
You must have the IT admin role in Perform & Engage 365, or the Super admin role with the Microsoft 365 global admin role, to set up the sync between Perform & Engage 365 and Microsoft Entra ID. If you need any help with these permissions or for more information, contact Zensai Product Support.
IMPORTANT
When you set up the sync between Perform & Engage 365 and Microsoft Entra ID, Super admins can still manually add new users, move users to other teams, and so on.
However, you should note that the next time the sync runs, any such manual changes will be overwritten and lost.
Set up the sync between Perform & Engage 365 and Microsoft Entra ID
Required role: IT admins, Super admins with the Microsoft 365 global admin role.
1. Log in to Perform & Engage 365 on the web platform.
2. Select the cog icon > Integrations. The integrations page opens on the Teams tab.
3. Select the Microsoft Entra ID tab.
4. On the Microsoft Entra ID row, select Connect.
5. Sign in with your Microsoft 365 admin credentials.
Here, you'll see a list of permissions that are needed to set up the sync.
6. Review the permissions and when you're ready, select Accept for all the Microsoft permissions listed.
When the page reloads, you should see the Connected status on the Microsoft Entra ID row, with the following message: "Microsoft Entra ID is connected to Perform & Engage 365."
By default, all users in Microsoft Entra ID will sync with Perform & Engage 365.
7. On the Microsoft Entra ID tab, select View details on the Microsoft Entra ID row. The User Sync - Microsoft Entra ID page opens on the Microsoft Entra ID Only tab.
8. Choose which users you want to sync with Perform & Engage 365:
- To sync all users in Microsoft Entra ID with Perform & Engage 365, select Refresh. This completes the steps to sync user information between Perform & Engage 365 and Microsoft Entra ID. You don't need to complete any more steps in this article.
- To choose which users you want to sync with Perform & Engage 365 and configure other settings, select Sync Settings. The Sync Settings dialog opens. Complete the remaining steps in this article.
9. In the Strategy section, choose how you want to sync users:
- Set the toggle to Manual refresh so you can control when a sync will happen. Once set, you can manually sync users by following step 7 then selecting Refresh.
- Set the toggle to Daily refresh to set a sync schedule. Additional fields are displayed, where you can set the Refresh time by selecting from the drop-down. The time is shown in your local time zone, for example TZ: Europe/London. The time zone is taken from that specified in your user settings.
10. Choose how you want the sync to occur:
- Set the toggle to Manual comparison if you want an admin to be able to review any changes the sync intends to make before it happens, so the admin can override the proposed changes, if necessary.
- Set the toggle to Auto-sync from Microsoft Entra ID if you want to sync the changes automatically, with no manual intervention.
11. In the Notifications section, choose whether you want to send an in-product notification to a Super admin when the sync is complete.
- Set the toggle to No notification if you don't want to send one.
- Set the toggle to Send notification on refresh, if required. An additional field is displayed, where you can choose the Recipient from the drop-down.
12. In the Filters section, choose whether you want to apply a Graph API filter by setting the toggle. When the toggle is on, an additional field opens, where you can enter or paste the Definition.
13. Choose whether you to apply filters based on Email addresses by setting the toggle. When the toggle is on, additional fields open. Here, you can choose to include email addresses that contain specific text, or exclude them.
14. Choose whether you want to sync only specific Microsoft Entra ID groups with Perform & Engage 365 by setting the Group toggle. When the toggle is on, an additional field opens, where you can enter or paste the IDs of the Microsoft Entra ID Groups you want to include in the sync. If you choose to sync more than one group, you should separate the IDs with a comma (,).
15. Select Save.

Stop the sync between Perform & Engage 365 and Microsoft Entra ID
Required role: IT admins, Super admins with the Microsoft 365 global admin role.
1. Log in to Perform & Engage 365 on the web platform.
2. Select the cog icon > Integrations. The integrations page opens on the Teams tab.
3. Select the Microsoft Entra ID tab.
4. On the Microsoft Entra ID row, select Disconnect.
