The date and time format in Learn365 can be configured on the catalog level as well as for individual courses and training plans. However, the display of date and time in Learn365 web parts (which controls the display of date and time on the course catalog home page, My Training Dashboard, as well as course and training plan home pages), depends on the browser settings of the individual user. The format of date and time in the Learn365 mobile app is static.
In this article, we go through what controls the format of numbers, date, and time used in notifications, certificates, and reports of course catalogs, courses, and training plans, and what defines the display of date and time in Learn365 web parts and the Learn365 mobile app.

Date and time settings for course catalogs, courses, and training plans
Formats of numbers, dates, and time used in notifications, certificates, and reports of course catalogs, courses, and training plans are defined by the value set for Locale in the Regional Settings.
For example, if the Locale is set to English (United States), the date format in notifications, certificates, and reports will be mm-dd-yyyy and will use the 12-hour time format (1/29/2022 @ 10:00 PM). If the Locale is set to Russian (Russia) the date format will be dd-mm-yyyy with the 24-hour time format (29.01.2022 @ 21:30).
Also, the value set for Locale will define how numbers, dates, and time is formatted in the Learn365 player (in which learners interact with the learning content). Numbers, date, and time that are part of the course content itself, for example, in a title of a learning module, will not be affected by any regional setting, browser setting, or other.
The default value for this setting is defined already upon the creation of the course catalog. For course catalogs, the Site Language settings are set when the course catalog is created. The course catalog Site Language settings define the default Regional Settings (and as part of this, the value set for Locale) of the course catalog and each course and training plan in the course catalog. However, the Regional settings can be set individually for each course and training plan.
To view and configure the settings for Locale of a course catalog, follow the steps below:
1. In the Learn365 Admin Center > Catalog Settings > LMS Configuration > Regional Settings.
2. From the Locale drop-down menu, select the relevant locale.
3. Select Save to apply the changes.
IMPORTANT
The updated Locale settings of a course catalog will not be applied to courses and training plans previously created in this course catalog.
New courses and training plans created in this course catalog will inherit the updated Locale settings of the course catalog.
As Regional Settings can be configured individually for each course and training plan, you can apply separate settings for Locale for the different courses and training plans in the course catalog. This will control the settings for the date and time formats of numbers, date, and time used in notifications, certificates, and reports of this particular course or training plan.
To view and configure the settings for Locale of a course or training plan, follow the steps below:
1. In the Learn365 Admin Center, open the course/training plan configuration panel in the Settings section > Regional Settings.
2. From the Locale drop-down menu, select the relevant locale.
3. Select Save to apply the changes.
The date and time format of the present training will be adjusted to the updated Locale settings.
IMPORTANT
When you change settings for Locale of a course or training plan, the language of the course or training plan notifications will be changed accordingly.
Display of date and time on the catalog home page, My Training Dashboard, and course and training plan home pages
The date and time format displayed in Learn365 web parts is determined by the user's browser settings. These settings control the display of date and time on the course catalog home page, My Training Dashboard, and course and training plan home pages.
Therefore, it is up to the individual user how they want to configure the date and time format displayed in Learn365 web parts.
This rule is applied when Learn365 is used from within both SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
Display of date and time in the Learn365 mobile app
The format for date and time is MMMM dd, yyyy, meaning the mobile app will show the full name of the month, day of the month (from 01 through 31), and the year as a four-digit number. For example, January 14, 2022. This format is static and can't be changed.
