Why doesn't the autoplay setting work for Microsoft Stream video content in Learn365 courses via Google Chrome?

The autoplay setting might not work for Microsoft Stream video via Google Chrome for the following reasons:

  • Google Chrome blocks autoplay for non-muted content and creates a media engagement index (MEI) for every website based on user engagement. Google Chrome will allow videos to autoplay when the MEI score for a website is above a certain value.
For more information about Google Chrome autoplay policy, see this Google article.
  • In the Learn365 mobile app, by default, we use WebView with emulation of the Google Chrome browser. That emulator uses the same auto-play policy as the Google Chrome Desktop version.
To resolve the issue with autoplay, change the default browser on your mobile device.
