Open person property settings
1. As an Organization admin, select the cog icon at the top of your dashboard then Organization Settings. The settings page opens on the License tab.
2. Select the Person Properties tab. The Person Properties page opens.
By default, the page displays all active person properties for your organization, along with options to manage each one and create person properties. To additionally show archived person properties, select Show archived.
You can set the order in which properties are displayed in lists and profiles. Drag and drop the person property rows to the correct order.
Create a person property
1. On the Person Properties page, select Add Person Property. The Add Person Property page opens.
2. In the Property definition section, enter the property Name.
3. Select the Data type from the drop-down list. The available options are:
- Text. Any word or phrase, such as a job title or office name.
- Number. A numeric value, such as years of service or a pay band.
- Date. A calendar date, such as a start date or contract end date. If you select this option, you'll also need to enter a Data type date format in the field that opens.
- Person Tag. Links this person to another person in your organization, for example to record a buddy or a secondary manager.
4. Select the Data category. This determines how this property is treated.
- Static. A permanent identifier that is unique to each person and doesn't change, such as an employee ID or payroll number. Use this for values imported from your HR system.
- Person Link. The value stored against this property is another person's email address in your organization. Perform & Engage 365 uses this to automatically assign that person as a reviewer in performance reviews. Use this for fields like Direct Manager or HR Business Partner.
- Group. A value that places people into a named segment, such as a business unit or office location. Use this when you need to filter reports or compare results across groups of people.
5. In the Profile visibility section, select the Show on profile public checkbox if you want everyone in the organization to be able to see this value on a person's profile page. This can be useful to show their job title or office location.
6. Select the Show on profile private checkbox if this value should be visible only to the person and their manager. This might be appropriate for the person's salary band or personal contact details.
7. In the Features & reporting section, select the Show on performance review creation checkbox if managers should be able to use this property to filter and find the people when setting up a performance review, for example, filtering by job level or employment type.
8. Select the Allow analytics checkbox if you want to make this property available as a filter in analytics dashboards, so you can compare results across different groups, for example, seeing check-in scores by office location.
9. Select the Allow goal analytics checkbox if you want to make this property available as a filter in the goals section of analytics, so you can compare goal progress across different groups.
10. Select the Show in reports checkbox if you want to include this property as a column when exporting reports, for example, showing each person's office location or job level alongside their check-in data.
11. Select the Is searchable checkbox if you want to let managers and admins find people by searching for this property's value, for example, entering a job level or office name to show everyone with that value.
12. Select Save or Cancel.
The new property is added to the list and can be configured further.
Edit a person property
